Products and ProductID

Is there a way to set catagories for products so that when I am in the order screen, and click on Product# it brings up the catagories? I would then click a catagory to see all the items in that catagory. This would be helpful as we have over 200 items, and scrolling through them all is not a quick or easy process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
