I just looked at both the item price and discount field in ODP Version 3. Both of these fields are large enough to contain larger numbers.

Discount will take 9,999,999,999.99

Price will take 9,999.99

The price field can be made a little wider in order to accept more digits as it is internally defined as the same size as the Discount field. In design you can resize the field on the Enter New Order form view.
