: I was able to create the new field in Customer View, but I had to enter the formula as SMax(ordhead.ORDERDATE)in order for the approach to accept it as valid. I added the field onto the Customer View and it is working perfectly, showing the date of the last order.

: But when I try to do a find on this view, there is no LastOrderDate field available to set within the condition tab. How do I get the field to show up there? I searched in both the customer and ordhead databases.

: Also, in the past I added a few additional fields in the Customer View. How do I change the tab order through the fields?

To do a Find on this new field, do a Find on the view and not thru the Find Assistant. You can click Find, then enter something like < 4/1/2004 into that field to find customers whose last order was before April 1, 2004.

To change the tab order, go into design on the form view, then click View on the top menu bar and "Show tab order". The current tab order appears in little grey boxes. You type over the numbers to change the order. For example if you want a field to appear as number 10 and its number is currently 27, just type 10 over the 27. The rest of the tabs will adjust. Be careful not to double click in a grey box because that will clear all the tabs. If you do this accidently, cancel out and start over.
